Hi Folks,
I am new to this stuff and some advice would be very much appreciated.
I have just (Dec 2004) bought an IPAQ HP rz1700 with TomTom (it came in a pack) - everything works fine, but I would like to install the Speed camera database - I have installed Checkpoint 2.0.2 and have tried to import the data on this.
I have assumed that I have Navigator 2?
I am asked to copy the OV2 and .bmp files to \STORAGECARD\GREAT BRITAIN NAVIGATOR MAP directory and 'overwrite any files you may have'
I do not have such a directory - mine \GREAT-BRITAIN-MAP - I am loath to change rename it in case TomTom stops working
I'm sure I'm doing something stupid - but any help/advice would be appreciated
Cheers

My mistake - it's an rx1710 - it came in the HP/TomTom pack and its running Navigator 4.40. Hope that makes more sense?

Hi Richard,
to the forum!
You don’t need CheckPOInt 2.0.2, as you can use the built-in Proximity alert. In fact neither CheckPOInt, nor any other third party add-on software will work with your version of TomTom.
Hopefully on your storage card you have a folder with a map name similar to the one you mentioned. If you place the .OV2 and the .BMP files of the database in that folder you should be able to see the cameras on your screen. You will need to shutdown/restart TomTom (or do a soft reset) then you should see them.
You then need to configure your Proximity Alerts.

Robert,
Thanks so much for that - I did what you advised and it seems to work perfectly - I can now see the camera icons on the map - just need to check it in the car.
Thanks again
Richard :D :D :D |
