What is the best available GPS nav software for coverage in Ireland?

I down loaded the Mapopolis trial ver of Kerry and Sligo Co and all they show is some road networks (the Dingle Peninsula is not shown), no city coverage and very little PI.

CoPilot has a Regional European GPS map of UK and Ireland, (I'm really only interested in Ireland coverage for a June trip to Ireland). Does anyone know if the CoPilot Ireland coverage is detailed and does the Regional GPS UK/Ireland map contain the base software or will I have to buy their US package also?

The best you will find is one that uses NavTech (which Mapopolis do). Mapopolis say the cover X percentage of Ireland (can't remember hte figure) but TeleAtlas claim to cover around 48%, however TeleAtlas base their figures on population, so where most of the population is around Dublin and Belfast you'll find those areas covered, plus major roads and that's it.

Ireland is slowly getting better coverage but I think it's going to be a number of years before it has coverage like GB does.

Please don't quadruple post! It's unneccessary, people will read your message if it's only one. The only thing you are doing is turning people off not replying when they read your second and third message!

Hi Bill,

Did you have any luck with this topic as I am looking for a good source of Irish maps for a trip this year.

Any image formate jpeg, png etc will do as I plan to calibrate them to use in Memory Map.

I am particularly interested in a scan of the Macgillacuddy's Reeks area in Kerry or any of the other mountainous regions.

Many thanks.

Stevie
