hello peeps just like to say hi to everyone on here nice forum guys well firstly just like to ask a few question on the navigation software for smartphones i want to install some naviation software on my nokia 7610, i have tomtom mobile and route66 mobile britain i also have a 512mb mmc card. now i just want to review each of these first so i dont really need a gps unit at the minute im not an expert and hence want to see which one is easier to use.
but before all this do these programs actually work on the 7610??
Now my main questions are how do i install these onto my mmc??
with the tomtom i have three folders System,2577 & TomTom .
where as with the route 66 i have Help, Lang, Maps, Res & Speech, now after reading info on this site i believe i am missing some folders for the route 66 is this true??
My mmc i have formatted so is completely clean and has no info what so ever.
Thanking you guys in advance and if i am unclear sorry but ask again i will clarify. |

mubse,
Hi.
Route 66 mobile will run on a Nokia 7610.
Which software version do you have??
UK version is supplied already on a mmc card and European version with full data.??? You can download manual from www.66.com!
You have to register with Route 66 by SMS to get it to run.
Support@66.com is helpful. |

mubse,
I don't know of any 'free trial' software for PDA or mobile phone, sorry!!!
Mike and Darrens reviews of Route66 and TomTom are very comprehensive and should provide you with sufficient information to make your decision. Both systems are highly rated and I am now regularly using Route 66 Mobile as my preferred, in car, navigation system, connected to a 'Mr.Handsfree' device for better sound!
Both systems are primarily for gps navigation, although you can do basic route planning. To save cost you should be able to buy a cheap/ s/h Bluetooth gps receiver and only have to buy the software.
Bon chance!!!!! |

Please do not mention your illegal activities on this forum.
You only need the \System Folder - the \2577 and \TomTom folders are for the Windows Smartphone. _________________ Lutz

I maybe wrong on this one but I thought that the TomTom folder contained the voice files for S60... |

btw. I prefer TomTom over Route66 as you can customise TomTom more.
I would suggest that you wait untill Mobile 5 is released as this contains a lot more options missing in the current version.
This program is really worth the money!! |

Trying to install TOMTOM on the 7610
(I'm just trying company phones, yes I am using files taken off an MMC card left in a resigned manager phone but it is with the intenet to get the company to buy full versions if they work on our current range of company phones)
Will TOMTOM only work on a 7610 with the TOMTOM GPS device? I know on C500, once you install the traffic update you can use other brands of recievers.
Some of our comapny cars already have a GPS system in place but I am trying to save money in the future. |

Totally agree with you about pirated software but the original message was posted in 2004 so don't you think you've missed the bus with this one.
