Hi

I was travelling along the A644 towards Dewsbury from the M62 a couple of days ago and noticed that a lot of cameras were missing from the database. I did try and log them by using the allocated button on the front, a view of differing cameras was presented followed by differing speed images. On my way back along the same road the cameras I had 'placed' earlier werent on the TomTom map...what was I doing wrong?

Cheers Rich

I think that CheckPOInt (v3) records the details of the new cameras to a Checkpoint.ov2 file, and does not update the actual POI files. When you synchronize with the Checkpoint sync service, the new cameras get uploaded, and are then immediately downloaded in the updated POI files - ie it's at this point that the cameras first appear in the speed related overlay files (However, I think deletions take immediate effect).

One solution to this is to get TomTom to display the Checkpoint.ov2 file, which at least will show you the position of the new items, but with no detail.

I guess not displaying them until you synchronize is a way to encourage everyone to update the central database for everyone's benefit.
