Hi All.
I am eager for the release of V3. But I have some queries, the following quote is from a UK based GPS supplier who is taking pre orders for the software.
“Making the product more cost effective Navman are now supplying Smart ST with street level maps of UK and base roads of Europe.”
Will the Europe base maps be the same level of detail as on V2. Or dose base really stand for basic. As I find my current European maps very good & quite accurate,”I would not want to take a step backwards”.
If this is the case, has any one any idea how the two versions could be linked.
This is the reason that I use Navman over Tomtom.
Regards. Stop!

Apparently, V3 is going to be shipped in two flavours. You will be able to buy a single region for Ł79 which comes with a European Major Roads map, or buy the whole of Western Europe, which also includes said Europe basemap, for Ł149.

The Europe basemap will be of major roads only. This covers motorways and major arteries. Personally, I'd sooner pay the Ł150 for the full package.

No worries there... your v2 Europe maps will work with v3 software should you decide to upgrade.
