Shortest Route

Hi guys,



Is there any way in TOMTOM Navigator, you can make the shortest route option the DEFAULT setting. Everytime that you advoid the planned route, it will calculate the new route and revert back to the quickest route, which then has to be set back manually, which is not the easiest thing to do while plodding along!



Any patch or program known to man would be appreciated

You can get the shortest route by adjusting your speed ratings (from the map page, File, Properties, Route) for each road type to the same figure. Your journey time will be off beam but you will get the shortest route. I find it best to set small differences, so I have Motorway set at 63mph, Int'nat Rd at 58, Major rd at 56, secondary at 55, connecting at 52 and so on. I prefer to avoid motorways so I didn't appreciate the extra 5 miles on a twenty mile journey the default settings often gave me, even if it saved 2 minutes!
