I used it this morning. I just used the speedometer display, no map.

The first thing I noticed is the 'annoying' digitized voice that is fairly quiet even though I've got it on 100%. That's something for Trev to tell the developer, make the current 100% say 70% or lower so we can increase volume through the bluetooth link.
When I used CA on the return journey it blasted me out as I'd raised the car volume to compensate.

Another issue it had was when it announced 2 Specs cameras back to back, one on the main drag and the other on the sliproad, it failed to return the audio. Left the pseudo phone call open.

Also, when in a Specs zone the popup never goes away, maybe that's by design.

My journey to Reading covers 2 Specs zones. When I left the first zone the popup remained so it's not recognising our 202920 Specs as an end camera.

It's close but no cigar I prefer CA so I hope it gets fixed.

You are right about SPECS end. The information about start and end cameras is not in the PGPSW iGO database.
The popup is meant to be there all the time, or are you talking about the banner which can be dismissed with a double tap IIRC.

Presumably you have played with the various volume controls within the app K.

Yes, the banner.

Snag, the phone is down by the handbrake so I don't want to take my eyes off the road to find and double tap the banner.

The answer is for the banner to auto disappear xx secs ala all the other camera types. Maybe a setting somewhere, there are so many.

I stopped using bluetooth audio because it kept getting stuck. I now route the audio through the car speaker system via Android Auto and it works perfectly.

My ageing Honda is good as gold with CA via BT as it hasn't got AA compatibility. This was the first time.

I'm sure I've seen a setting to avoid back to back Specs warnings

If you can't see the screen, why are you concerned with the banner?
I tghink the idea of the banner on SPECS is to give you a constant readout of your average, and an indication of how fast you can go to maintain your average (you can optionally limit that to the SPECS zone speed)

The speedometer screen has all that info so I don't need the banner as well.

The phone is in peripheral view for a quick glance but not for guiding a finger safely to perform 2 taps.

I'll look closer at the settings but for the time being I'll stick with CA until it's given Samsungs Android 10

Having that permanent banner with the last Specs camera detail, 5 miles back, isn't ideal. I still think a banner timeout is preferable.

What a shame iGo can't accommodate Specs end Sad

For those now using Speedtrap Alert on a Samsung .... replace Samsung TTS with Google TTS. Text To Speech.

It produces a proper, not robotized, voice and is louder.

@MaFt, would it be feasible to produce a bespoke iGo based database with an additional column for start, middle and end Specs ?

Google TTS is downloaded from the playstore.

Then when downloaded you should get a popup to enable it.

Then, the difficult bit, took me a while to find it, is to set Google TTS as the default TTS.

The difference in the voice alerts is, in my opinion amazing in comparison.

Settings - Text-to-speech - Preferred engine

Click the Preferred engine text and not the cog wheel

Are we in STA? I don't have
Settings - Text-to-speech
And I can only change the default language in
Settings - Audio settings - Speech synthesis.
And I can't find it in the phone settings either.

Found it.
Phone - settings- accessibility - screen reader - settings = text to speech-preferred engine.
Jeez how bleeding deep can the bury it. Now to test with STA

Ah, that's a bit better.

I just went into settings then used the top magnifying glass search for 'text to speech' took me straight there.

There are a lot of settings in Pie that are now buried deeper than of old.

Be interested to see what you think of it in comparison to Sammy TTS. I'm using the default female voice #1
