Your last post saying that it is facing west, trapping eastbound indicates that we have got the heading of the camera wrong as we have got it trapping westbound. But at least that would explain why it doesn't alert for eastbound traffic and the bend is possibly the reason for it not alerting when westbound.
How many times have you actually seen the camera in operation there and how recently?

I go through every day, seen once this year facing west.maybe in February?

I would suggest you visit the submission page and enter a change to make the mobile camera either reversible or eastbound.

As it stands we now know 100% why you are not getting eastbound warnings.

What's changed ..... have you changed devices or settings from non directional to directional ?

I have changed device.
I also ticked hide cameras I drive away from. Although it shows visually facing the correct way [/img]

I have submitted change , hopefully correct.
Cheers guys!

According to your observations, no it's not. The big arrow should not face the way it is 'pointing', it should point in the direction that the speeder has to be travelling to be 'caught' i.e. eastbound. So that screenshot shows a camera trapping westbound traffic.
Unfortunately, it's a fairly common mistake that submitters make, either by lack of understanding of how the database and the various icons 'work' (as it appears to be the case for you) or by not saying it was 'on the other side' in CA.

Mobile cameras nearly always trap as you approach them, but can, and do catch traffic 'going away'. So it is possible that most mobiles on a straight road should be marked as 'both ways'.

The situation for a Safety Camera Partnership van and a Kojak with a Kodak is different. The Van will normally point it's cam out of the back, catching approaching traffic, but a Kojak with a Kodak just has to turn around to make him 'both ways'

That's exactly the mistake I made!

It is a guy with a camera and not a van . Tried to edit as both ways just now but app crashes Rolling Eyes

OK, I'll do it for you on my ''old fashioned' 27" screen, full size keyboard computer on a website that doesn't crash (mostly). Laughing

Nice work.
The no map showing fix stops the crashing.

Thanks everyone

I wasnt aware of developer options and standby apps. I've set camera alert to Exempt and it now lasts for up to 10 minutes before it gets killed. As stated, the app is not battery optimised, I've got a 8GB OnePlus 6 so not sure why it's being killed. Other apps don't get killed. Hopefully an app update will be released soon, don't think we've had an update for years!

Very strange. CA has never been 'killed' by any of my Android phones from ICS right up to the latest Pie.

The only 'must' setting for me has been to turn 'display map' to 'never' or it does lock up and/or terminate, I reckon due to overheating.

You could also try:

Settings, Advanced, Recent App Management and make sure 'Normal Clear' is selected.

Also, in the Battery Optimisation area - tap the 3 dots and disable the 'advanced optimisation'

Many Thanks - Finally, I think my OnePlus 6 is finally running the Camera Alert App OK without being killed off. have to

1) Make sure the app isn't optimised
2) Lock the app
3) Change the App in Developer Options/Standby Apps

Didn't get killed once aftyer a 1 hour journey Smile
