I believe that Windows 7 on is a similar folder structure. W7 and W10 are. |

I can confirm those locations for Basecamp and Mapsource tile caches, on my W10 OS.
But the caches seem to have reasonable caps on their sizes, so they are not so much of a problem.
The main issue is the C:/ProgramData/Garmin/CoreService, where huge amounts of downloaded map files etc are left behind for users to delete.

Thanks all.
I've found time to rework the logic:
**** Just for info, not uploaded yet. ****
1) The sizes are now akin to Windows in GB to 2 decimal places (and is now correct in the conversion from Kb to Gb).
2) I've trimmed off the creation time as just the date is important and the time was causing truncation for some users.
I still need to display the Gb usage against each of the 4 fields - this will display something like:
"Downloaded / Saved Maps (6.04Gb)"
- WIP (hopefully tomorrow morning) _________________ Satnav:

I think I'm there:
Usual download link.
I haven't added in the Mapsource or Basecamp files due to mixed feedback. _________________ Satnav:

No adverse feedback so I'm going to look at the Basecamp and Mapsource data.
I have had Basecamp installed, since removed, but there are a significant number of files in there.
I won't have room to display the files so I'm going to display the 'damage' and offer a quick link to manage.
What I don't know is what is safe to delete:
Authentication
CardProductCache
DeviceCache
ProductDataCache
TileCache
Is any of it safe to 'maintain' or will it cause issues ?
I won't continue till I know. _________________ Satnav:

Its Tilecache that needs to be cleaned out. This is where it stores the temporary files when it displays a map etc. |

OK
I'll just provide data on both locations and a quick access link(s)
Leave it with me. _________________ Satnav:

You could also clear ProductDataCache and DeviceCache. Leaving them can create issues when folks try to look at new POI files in BaseCamp, and they'll be restored when needed. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Ta
I won't be deleting anything. I'll just report the data size and provide a link to the folder top level.
I hate deleting anything I don't fully understand and isn't created by me. _________________ Satnav:

Hi K,

I'm sure I can trap the currently logged on user but that may not be where all those files are if the PC has more than one user. |
Although I use a Mac now, I used to use Windows PCs. I wrote a DOS batch file to back up important folders to a USB memory stick. This was quite easy for most of the data as I kept everything in the C:\Data folder, however, the Outlook .pst file could not be moved and it resided in another folder. The annoying thing was that the Outlook files were in different folders depending on the version of Windows! The batch file also had to determine the user's name because of the folders.
I solved the problem by getting the DOS batch file to determine the user and also the version of windows and then set variables (depending on the version of Windows) which were then concatenated to produce the necessary folder name.
You've probably worked this out already but I can send you the batch file (or text version) if you like, it's less than 200 lines long even with comments and spacing.
You will also need people on different versions of Windows to tell you the locations of the necessary files.

Thanks
I've determined that all the latest versions of Windows are using the same locations.
I'm coding around Win7 and Win10 and I guess Win8 will be the same.
Anyone still using XP ?
If I get any error feedback I'll be back
Early days, no code behind it yet but the Disk Check will now have 2 options:
The second option will load the Basecamp & Mapsource files found:

Windows sets a couple of environment variables to these locations:
APPDATA=C:\Users\Fred\AppData\Roaming
LOCALAPPDATA=C:\Users\Fred\AppData\Local
Using these environment variables to get the path should work on all recent Windows versions. _________________ Paul |

Thanks, the 'User' location is easy.
I need some info before I can go any further.
What is the layout of the Mapsource directory, is it more subDirectories or straight files ?
I can then reduce the width of the right side box to suit and then play/truncate the displayed filenames in the left box.
This is as far as I can go at the moment:

For Mapsource, within my Roaming ... Garmin ... MapSource folder, I have just one folder called TileCache containing 200 to 250 Mb of tile files.
