I would like the IOS display to show the legal fixed speed limit of the road I am travelling on perminetely along with the speed I am travelling as shown on the display on the App Store, then I can maintain my speed within the speed limit, avoiding the need to worry about speed cameras.

This isn't a feature of CamerAlert nor are there any plans to display it.

That's a shame, was searching for something like this, and it looked like it on the Apple app store, does anyone know of any way to get this by some other means?

That was probably because the display was showing actual speed and average speed in a specs zone.

The road signs are not always that obvious and not enough of them that's why we get speeding fines and why we need apps like this to detect speed cameras if we could see what the speed is set at we would never overspeed. I have a built in Ford GPS, it does display the set speed for each road but it's too small to see, especially if your over 50 and your eyes are not as good as they used to be!!!

Another reason to look at a Garmin PND because you can configure it to bong when you drift over the limit, camera or no camera.

On a satnav, the speed limit data is 'built into' the map data and is often less than accurate so should not be relied on anyway. Here's what Google have to say about it.
Quote:
he accuracy of speed limit data returned by the Google Maps Roads API cannot be guaranteed. The speed limit data provided is not real-time, and may be estimated, inaccurate, incomplete, and/or outdated.
Thge only way of accurately knowing the speed limit is by looking out of the window. If a speed limit sigh is badly obscured and you get caught speeding, you possibly have a reasonable chance of getting the fine overturned unless you are in a built up area with street lighting, where the limit is 30 unless posted otherwise.

Really? Perhaps you'd benefit from attending a driver improvement course. And as M8TJT says if the signs are really obscured you have a valid defence Very Happy
