Hi all
I hope someone can help me I have michalin green guide on my garmin 3490 but am unable to see it on device to navigate to a poi but when satnav connected to PC I can find it in poi folder but I am sure it was not in custom poi folder before last update so I would like to convert the michalin gpi file back to csv to reinstall it but I am not having any luck, the michalin file is large 277 mb.
Any help to either suggest what the problem is or how I can convert would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance Dell |

I have a suggestion that you use a few more full stops or comas to make your posts more readable.
However, I don't think you can convert GPI to CSV. But I have often been wrong and there are real experts on that sort of thing posting on this site. |

I did stumble across a GPI to CSV converter years ago but the site wanted a subscription to allow access. _________________ Satnav:

Thanks for the replies
I don't mind paying to convert it.
As for using punctuation I have never been good with that or spelling but I got my problem across, and it seems a bit picky to me.
I have not been to school for 51 years.

My apologies Dell, but that post is much better not being mostly all on one line.
Found a link HERE which seems to deal with the subject.
And from a link quite a way down the above page THIS
I haven't done it myself though, so don't know how well/whether it works. |

Hi Dells,
Have a look at GPSBabel, which can run on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
The website says that it can convert GPI, it can certainly use .csv, as I use GPSBabel to convert .csv to TomTom .ov2 files.
I prefer to use a program on my computer instead of an online method so GPSBabel is good for me.
Caveat
When I moved from Windows to Mac, I found that the number of tools that I could use to convert .csv to .ov2 dropped considerably. When I first found GPSBabel, I installed it but couldn't get it to work - however, this may have been operator error, i.e. lack of Mac knowledge.
Saying that, I now have GPSBabel working and it does a great job for me.

Isn't the Michelin Green Guide encrypted and locked to a device? |

GPS Babel, as Privateer says, will work. However the issue will likely be that the POI file is locked as it's n official POI as opposed to one made publicly available for anyone to amend etc. |
