Well I've downloaded the whole shebang all over again from Garmin.
Once again I got 2 x 2GB maps ... but only one .jcv file and no more quantities of SID , SQLITE etc.
It looks like I may have to get my entitlement of files from somewhere else, then.

What size is your .jcv file?
I wouldn't worry about the SID etc files though. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way.

The forums cover some devices, mainly their sports stuff, nothing for handhelds or vehicle devices though. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Do you know what my missing file is called, so I can search it out ??

DeJaVue from the DEM file a while ago.
If you haven't got a file then GE won't issue it, they will only update, not correct. _________________ Satnav:

Yep, one file definitely missing, it's named D6212020A.jcv. Why you're not getting it I have no idea, although I suspect if you deleted all your map and .jcv files a fresh re-install would then work.
However if you pm me your email I'll send you the missing one. Probably quickest way to sort it for you. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Thanks for the info on the filename, Suss. That soon helped me to find it.
I think I've got a 20 Mb limit for email attachments, but the new file is 182 Mb.

Correct, it's 182Mb ... if you pm me your email I'll email you a link where you can download it, not the file so email limit isn't an issue
Or have you now downloaded it from elsewhere? _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

I'm already sorted out, thanks very much, Suss.
I found the file elsewhere this morning, installed it and working OK.

Just did mine after I uploaded the latest cameras. It chugged away for two hours and overwrote the original installation. I never got the option to move to SD card but it all seems to work. I punched in Split and Venice just to check if any European places were present and they came up then a restaurant in Barnet, so I "assume" all is well. Garmin don't seem big on update information though, do they.
Can't help but wonder with the increase in in-built car sat navs that can be updated over the air or by USB, and Google Maps/Waze we might be looking at the near demise of separate devices. Drove a car with this system last week and it had everything on it and it was not top end. |

I've tried numerous 'in built' systems and never been impressed. What I wish the car manufacturers would do is allow us to simply slot our devices into their cars ... I find it far too tricky to plan routes etc on my car while sitting at home _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Best place to seup your satnav for a trip is on the sofa in front of the nice warm fire the night before. Not out in a cold car on the drive. |
