This question has probably been asked a thousand times already but I couldn't find the answer anywhere, apologies in advance if it has.
Do I need up-to-date maps (TomTom) in order to use the Speed Camera Database?
I'm guessing that the answer is no and if the maps are out of date then it simply would affect the accuracy of the camera positions etc?
Thanks |

I think that new roads not on your map will only be a problem if you use "Warn on route" if you just use normal proximity alerts then you will be OK most of the time.
The exception may be when TomTom unit "snaps your location" onto a known road. Say you're on a new road bypass that is close to the old road. TomTom may snap your location onto the old road which may show you a small distance away from the actual speed camera on the new road.
As a subscriber to the database you are entitled to use CamerAlert for either iPhone or Android which you can use as an additional warning.
