I am away from my PC for a number of weeks and I don't want to be constantly nagged to update the database. Is there a way to switch it off? |

No. But what has your PC got to do with it? |

By association, the router - so no personal WiFi. _________________ Richard

But it runs on a phone so doesn't need wifi. |

Unless it's being run on a tablet I suppose but it doesn't say that. _________________ DashCam:

Sorry folks. Senior moment. What I meant to say was that I will not be able to access the internet for about 3 weeks on my smart phone as I am travelling around France. |

If mobile data is turned off then it won't access the server so it won't give you the 'update' notification.

I cannot see an option anywhere to turn off 'mobile data'.
Where is this setting on an Android device? |

There's an option in the 'pull down' bar at the top of the screen on my phone. If it's not there, look in Settings ~ Notification panel. The only possible problem is that it switches it off for all apps. |

I'm still puzzled, assuming I'm understanding the question properly.
When I start my Android CamerAlert all it does is tell me that the database is out of date and 'please update'. It's not a forced update and I can ignore it.
Presumably it's the database version check on startup that is the concern? _________________ DashCam:

That's the OP's problem. It's the constant naggging every time you start CA if your database is out of date that the OP is talking about. Apparently MaFt says that if you turn off mobile data, it cant contact the server therefore does not know it's out of date, therefore doesn't nag (If I have understood MaFt's 'fix' properly) |

Yes, in the main phone's settings. There will also be a setting for 'international data roaming' so if you're abroad you can make sure no mobile data is used.
It will, however, affect ALL apps. So email, Whatsapp, web browser etc etc
