The question remains: What is the timescale for a new version taking into account the changes that are required whatever the problems may be.

I guess that's a difficult question. They've been under the threat olf the guillotine for so long now, I imagine they had little incentive for that sort of work. Hopefully now they can review and consider everything, but if it were me, I'd take some time getting wound up!

Does anybody know if the guys are planning to develop the app further? New screen sizes a logical step - apple watch notifications would be a killer feature!

Quote "apple watch notifications would be a killer feature!"

If you're running CamerAlert on your phone in front of you, why would you want a separate notification on your watch?

If you don't do the above, I wouldn't want to be driving in your vicinity whilst you check your watch to see what cameras coming up!

Perhaps Xman doesn't want to know which camera is coming up, but just the fact that there is a camera coming up Very Happy

But the alert could be for anything, there is no differentiation between alerts except for Activity alerts which are double 'clicks' as opposed to the normal one 'ding' that other alerts use, unless I've missed something

I use Pebble rather than Apple Watch and use an 'app' that shows navigation instructions on the watch in basic graphical form. It works very well and it's very easy to see your watch when driving - much easier than looking at a phone.

Yes I can see that would work MaFt, but unless you could get an audio alert to sound from the watch, similar to what CamerAlert does now i.e. "fixed camera 30", I could see problems with the concept. Is it possible to get audio alerts from a watch, Apple or otherwise? I know you can make and take phone calls.

I've got an Apple watch and sometimes use Apple maps to navigate with. It gives you a gentle tap on the wrist when a turn is due just before the audible instruction.. Having that as a CamerAlert function would be useful.

Not sure if this needs a separate thread....been failed to explicitly see the answer....
I have an iPhone 6, currently on 8.4.1 (putting off 9 for now).
Is this supported with CamerAlert? The FAQ suggests not, no mention if iPhone 6:

The CamerAlert app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5C (any colour), iPhone 5S, any iPad with 3G/4G/LTE and any iPad Mini with 3G/4G/LTE.

Thanks!

As it's free as a trial, why don't you just try it and report back?

It worked on my iPhone 6 Plus and now works on my iPhone 6s Plus. It has worked on all my iPhones starting with the 3GS.

In my case I use the car's inbuilt navigation and the phone is plugged inside the armrest storage - I do hear the alerts but a tap in the wrist would be nice to have...

Still, just a dream, I still wonder if anybody knows if the the guys are planning to release an iphone update soon...
