But as we’re losing ad-revenue from this then why not make a donation towards website running costs?. Or you could disable your ad-blocker for this site. We think you’ll find our adverts are not overbearing!
(I did post this under "Enhamcement requests" but it does not seem to have attracted any attention there, so I'm reposting it here.)
Has there been any progress on providing a mute button to CamerAlert? I see it was mooted ( ) in 2011 with the reply that it would be looked into. Or is it already there, and I have just missed it? _________________ Anton

Yes, there is that option, but I don't want it buried in a menu where searching for it will distract me from traffic. I'd like it on the main screen, big and easily visible.
The M6, which I use frequently, has long stretches of average speed cameras during the current seemingly interminable roadworks. I know they are there. so I don't need to be told about them beyond the first one. I don't mind it when I'm driving alone, but when my wife is with me and wishes to talk, the constant and frequent repetition of "Average speed fifty" is highly intrusive.
I normally want warnings to be on and audible, but with an option to mute the audio temporarily. I envisage a button along the top of the main window, perhaps something like in the attached image. Green when un-muted, red when muted, and a menu setting for a timeout (set before your journey), so that after a user-selectable period of being muted, it would automatically un-mute (in case you forget to do it yourself). The button might also be set to flash when muted as a visual reminder, and the other visual overspeed reminders would still appear.
I would not for a moment wish to tell the programmers how to do their job (and they have produced an excellent product), but submit this as a suggestion for a future version.

I think that's a great idea Anton. I can identify with the 'when the wife is in the car' scenario. The only thing I disagree with is that you really wouldn't want it to flash
