I may be blind but is there any way to set the system to automatically update the database please?

Every few days it says the database is up to date and I have to manually update. It's just an annoyance I'd like to get rid off.

A very short answer. No! Whether this is planned or not is in the hands of the developers.

It is an obvious development - the app already checks if there is an update present so all that is needed is a link to the update routine.
I'm not an app developer but did code for a living a few years ago and in those days it would have been about three lines of code to add.
IF there was a flag to allow us to opt in or out that would require more coding but would be a nice to have.

Let's be honest we subscribe because we want to have access to the latest info this just streamlines the process.

There isn't the option at the moment, but it is on the list of things to do.

It should only warn you once a week though and not every few days.

Confirm, mine only warns me if I miss the Wednesday update.
But it does warn every time I open ca afterwards if I don't update.
However, that is the whole idea,I don't mind.

Have to be honest though,I don't activate the auto update on any of my apps, call me old fashioned but I like to see what is coming down and when onto my phone. Especially if I don't have wifi connection. Yes I do know the ca updates are not large, and I do understand why people would want the auto function.

Thanks for the reply. It's nice to know it's in the works.

I agree about knowing what's coming onto my phone and I am quite selective on allowing autoupdates.

In this case though there would be no point in not allowing the update as that would mean the warnings would be out of date and knowing my luck it would be the missing camera that I didn't spot that caught me.
