Satnav for van and car?

Hello good people, I'm a newcomer to this forum.

Broken Tomtom. My first and only satnav, Tomtom Start, seems to be kaput. A few months ago its voice went very quiet but otherwise it was working well. Now when I switch on it doesn't get past the Tomtom start screen and the only way to switch off is to let the battery run down or to press the reset button. I assume this condition is terminal, but perhaps someone can advise differently. In any case it does seem to have become unreliable so I am looking for a replacement.

Car/van. I drive both a car and a van, all over UK and sometimes in France, Spain and Portugal. Ideally I would like one that knows the differences in speed limits between cars and commercial vehicles, and can calculate routes and journey times accordingly. Of course in urban areas and on motorways there's little difference, but I live in a rural area far from any city or motorway and my destinations are often similarly distant from 'civilisation'.

Choice of model/phone. I have been very happy with my Tomtom and recently I had the opportunity to use a more advanced Tomtom with a bigger screen which I also liked. So if the van/car feature is very expensive perhaps I'd be best to stick with the devil I know. But I am also open to the idea of buying a telephone with satnav built in.

Your suggestions would be most welcome.
