You can put your own sound files on the device and the app will use them. they just need the same name eg siren.mp3, ding.mp3 etc.

They need to go into: /Android/data/com.pocketgpsworld.cameralert/files/

As per...: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=90049&highlight=com+pocketgpsworld

Aye i realise that, but like i said, i'd need to be rooted to see that folder.

But if like you said BT is mono anyway, wouldnt really matter.

Chrs for the reply though!

Sound man here.... A single person speaking *IS* mono (unless you record them in a hugely reverberant hall). So making the warnings "stereo" would sound just the same, but make the files twice the size! Smile

Well i agree, but it just sounds tinny compared to the music is all ;)

Perhaps i want it 'spatialised' or something ;)

Probably because it is connected to your stereo via HFP, so it is coming across as a phone call?

I use mine connected using A2DP and there are no issues with the CA voices, they sound very similar to TomTom voices.

I stream the music from my phone as well over A2DP, and the phone lowers the volume of the music whilst CA or TT do announcements.

Many car BT systems do not support A2DP, they assume that the connecting devices are just talking HSP or HFP. Once you have to do that they add insult to injury by capping the sound frequency somewhere at 3 kHz like in old phone lines.
