TT are now including the 'latest' Postcode file with the latest map. It works exactly the same - the only 'benefit' is that it is downloaded, and installed, at the same time as the map (and doesn't need any other User Input). _________________ Richard

At least, that's the theory. You should see TWO updates to download - the new map AND the new postcodes. I did with the first device I updated, but not with the second one. _________________ Dennis

Probably because it then found a Folder called zipcode, containing the CAB File of Postcodes.
Just a guess, but we are talking HOME. _________________ Richard

Yes, Richard, my own thoughts exactly. HOWEVER the effect was that it did NOT install the new 895 postcodes on my GO550 Live. Strange that TT insiost you have to have more than one ID if you have more than one device, but more than one device proves beyond them to update the postcodes. Not Strange - TomTom. _________________ Dennis

Exactly the same with my 550 Live. Got the new map but no mention or download of 895 zip |

The other thing that I think makes it confusing (to me at any rate!) is that TomTom have described the download for the new postcode files as "Navigate to postcodes" as if it is a new feature, rather then simply calling it "Postcode data update" or something like that. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)

Home is offering 2 "Navigating to a postcode" downloads, one is being shown as 1.9MB, the other 8.8MB. _________________ Jock

Isn't one for the UK and the other for the Netherlands, Jock?
(I can't check as I was not being offered them, last time I looked). _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I'll check once the map download has finished - I deselected the postcode files. _________________ Jock

Apparently not - or at least there's no difference in the descriptions!

The large one is UK, the smaller NL. _________________ Jock

I thought the large one would be the postcodes and the smaller the version information. If the large one is UK and the smaller the Netherlands, where is the Singapore data?
I think they've amalgamated all the data for the three countries into one file? _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

When I downloaded the files, I did it separately. Looking in the ZIP folder, the Great_Britain set all have one timestamp and the Nederland ones have another, a few mins later.
I don't have a map covering Singapore. _________________ Jock
