Ive recently got the job of World Class Mail Champion and one of my tasks is to help improve the safety of our postmen.

At the moment each postie has a walk log detailing where all the hazards and dangerous dogs are on his walk, as you can imagine this can be a lot of information and impossible to remember for new posties or people covering the job.

Ive had the idea of introducing a GPS tracker like device or GPS watch that could record points of interest and give an audible warning or vibration warning when one of these POI are near.

Can anyone recommend a cheap device that could do this task, it must be fairly cheap because if my trial is successful it has the potential of being rolled out nationally and as you can imagine that would be a lot of devices!

Any small Sat-Nav that can do warnings as you approach a POI should be able to do what you want (even different warnings for different hazards).

A small TomTom or Garmin would do the job admirably.

I don't know of anything watch-sized that will do it though.

As battery life is not good and declines with age. you'd probably need an external battery pack as well.

Aerosol of red paint and spray a small blob on the pavement at each 'bad' address.

Way cheaper !

Green blob for those that make tea or give tips at Crimbo Very Happy
