|
|
We have just released a new version of the PocketGPSWorld.com Safety Camera Database. There's a slight difference (and it wont work straight out of the box, so take note!).
The subtle difference is it has now been split into three files. Namely:-
- PocketGPS_UK_GATSO.ov2
- PocketGPS_UK_REDLIGHT.ov2
- PocketGPS_CONTINENTAL.ov2
Please note that his means you will have to disable the old POI in TomTom Navigator 1 / 2 / 3 and your POI Notification software and re-add the new ones. The update is available here or via our Pocket GPS POI-Sync service. Remember to un-check the old POI and re-sync the new ones! |

Dave,
I hope im not jumping the gun here as the update hads only just been posted.
But... It seems the files are stil the old ones. also will you be issueing the Excel files? I am currently using them in Autoroute and Travel-I.
I do hope to upgrade to TT3 and Checkpoint in the coming moonths. but for now the Excel files would be very usefull

Dave and Darren,
Paul-m is right, when I downloaded the zipped file, the contents were dated 19/04/2004. However the POI Sync ones seem to be there.

I was expecting 3 separate ov2 files, just one, 93k, same size as last update and a suspicious 17/4/04 last mod date. Is this the new database or has someone forgotted to replace the old file? |

The latest and correct version is available on the server but I have found glitch in IE where if you have already downloaded the previous version of the file and performed an open and not a save as, then it didn't appear to overwrite the new version in my temporary internet files, but if I did a SAVE AS, point it to a temp directory and then open it, it shows the latest files.
Also make sure you are not pointing your browser to a proxy server in TOOLS | INTERNET CONNECTIONS because if you are, there's an extremely good chance that the proxy server you are pointing too hasn't re-spidered content and recognised a change in the file. |

You might want to try flushing your IE cache and Temp files as I've just d/l'd it and it's all present and correct? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi
At locations that have both a "saftey" camera and a red light camera which file would you like the updates to be put into? |

If a single location has both then I'd say it's best in the Gatso database. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Great job everybodies doing there keeping us up to date here and in europe now, just one question, I installed the new files, UK files all show fine, went to France and nothing! Are there any in France in the data base? I have slipped the continental file into my france map folder, but still no cameras to be seen on the map, and yes I have enabled them in POI........?
Best regards David |

Have installed new database but I note that a number of the cameras showing as Speed Cameras in my locality are actually Red Light cameras.
How do I advise you of these & is it possible to manually amend the files for my own use? |
