Mine has not arrived today either. I was looking forward to getting it all installed and working. I was a bit surprised that when I telephoned the order in, the guy did not ask for my previous license code, email address, etc. I just hope that all went well and that it will arrive tomorrow..... |

Hello all,
I ordered my Mio 168 pocket pc/Copilot Live combo from Lowestonweb.com on the 12th, thinking that it comes with Copilot Live v5. (as advertised) But then I found out that customers may get v4.5 until v5 is available. Then it'll be sent out free of charge.
I recieved my combo two days ago - with Copilot v4.5.
So has anyone here bought the same combo from the same company? And have you got your v5 yet?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

I am still waiting for my CP5 Upgrade (ordered by telephone first thing last Thursday). Has anyone else received their upgrade yet or are the only people with CP5 those who are buying it for the first time?
I emailed ALK last night and have not received a response either. I just wanted to make sure that they had not lost or misquoted my address details or something. They certainly haven't misquoted my payment details as my card was charged immediately - which is rather annoying! |

Abooth,
Thanks for replying. That was the same day as me. Did it arrive recorded delivery or ordinary first class mail? Or was it a different carrier?
Thanks |

Well guys, I ordered my upgrade on the 16/8 and it arrived on the 17/8. That's as good as it gets. BTW I did it over the phone.
So far so good, although V5 is a major improvement I feel that some useful elements have been removed, such as:
No option to have the map on display with buttons to zoom in/out etc, instead in goes back after 10 seconds to a santised view.
Varying the detail on maps is no longer possible
More road testing is required before I have the full picture, so far things are looking promising, I like the 3D view and improved map colours - this makes it much easier to follow. :D

HielandLad it was recorded delivery Royal Mail. The label says guaranteed delivery by 12 noon next day
I ordered it over the phone as no one seemed to respond to the upgrade request I did online
Thanks

Went for the CP5 upgrade today and called ALK. The support was very helpful indeed. Of course, it was a sad letdown that the Chairman's Club offer I received from ALK North America failed to cash in (not even proportionally) for my EU upgrade. And to think I sent them 26 megabytes of GPS tracks and all in vain Oh well, I'll take comfort in knowing that at least someone at ALK has been sacked for that mix-up
ALK aslo told me they are shipping the correctly labeled CDs now. Oh, and they didn't want my licence number either, just my name, address and oh by the way my credit card number
Cheers,
Eriks |
