This happens now when I start-up Telmap 5 on my Blackberry, I reported it 2 weeks ago. It took Telmap 1 week to find me on their system and pass the report on to the next level but I have heard nothing. I have emailed several times but I get no answer.
Do I need to re-load it AGAIN and loose all my destination points?
I find the software craches my phone on average once every trip ro simply switches off half was through a trip.
The ability to find GPS also seems very poor as I often have to drive 5 or more miles in open country, no trees or high buildings, before it recognises the GPS signal and starts to navigate me - isn't that the point of the software.
It is often too slow for roundabouts, you are off on your junction before the device has updated and tells you where to go.
I have heard that there is a newer version coming out, I guess it will just have more gimics like where to find your nearest McDonalds rather than giving useful information like which junction to take.
If anyone can give advice on how to make the softeare work again I would be interested.
The error is,
start Telmap
wait 2-3 minutes
message Synchroniseing resources... please wait (or option to cancel)
Wait another 5 minutes to be told you can close it down.

What phone have you got David?
In terms of it picking up the GPS that could be phone related, although I have to say more modern versions of the software pick-up the satellites much quicker than the old ones.
I agree losing your destinations each reinstall is a pain, so
1) I see it as the price to pay for free functioning satnav beta software (when it works for me)
2) There was almost functionality once from Telmap for a website for synchronizing / loading your destinations from. I've mentioned it on here before but was told that Telmap have discontinued looking at that. For me that would be a game changer - using a web browser to plan destination and route and then sending it to your phone would be brilliant, as would a website for managing your saved destinations when you need a clean up etc.

Yes of course, but it takes a lot longer for any GPS device to get a lock on the satelites if it is moving. Wait until you get a lock before you drive off. This will probably not help with your other probs though Sad

Thanks for the advice,
I can see that some inconvenience is appropriate for a free service but I was looking to pay for a reliable SatNav but Telmap couldn't offer it. Unfortunately I don't find the Telmap software reliable enough to use, and after trying it now I wouldn't want to have to pay for it unless significant improvements were made.
I understand that a moving GPS has more difficulty tracking satalites and this would take longer but what I didn;t say was that ofetn I have already been sitting in my car or standing beside my car trying to get a lock before I do the 5miles driving. TomTom satnavs seem not to have this same problem neither does the Google maps on my phone or another GPS locating application I have on my phone these all lock in very quickly so I can only assume my phone GPS receiver is working fine it must be the Telmap software the is not reading it correctly.
I have tried to email this problem to tugadmin both as a new email and as a reply to an old email from them but it keeps getting bounced back as address not existing. I even got an email from subscription help giving me the same email address but this was bounced also, have they moved or has the email changed? There doesn't seem to be any support to ability to feedback problem on the Beta version.

Is your phone software up to date? I regularly use Telmap on my BB9300 3G with no problems. GPS acquisition is very quick, even indoors, and the turn instructions are always timely. For free SW I think it's excellent, although the web-based interface you mention would be a useful addition.

1-The road map appear 10 minutes after start / load the software .
Before was immediatly .
After work fine . Anyway it is bad waiting these time. :-(
Maybe the reason are on Blackberry servers.
I saw that maybe the RIM change the BIS service. Anothet better version . More MB .

2-There also one problem that it is different between the old version - the map NAVTEQ that provide Telmap it is not upgrade some directions and new roads. I remember that the old version was fine.

We need time . They need time .
