right im going to be a bit thick here-im going to buy a camera subscription and was wondering how it worked o the htc desire hd

do i have to purchase a satnav app aswell or jsut use my regular maps? if i do purchase satnav which one does everyone recommend theres something on my phone that says purchase navigaiton but not sure wot make that is

i do have a satnav as i have posted in these forums before ut after finding out new maps will cost 70 pounds i was thinking of using my phone instead

If all you want is the camera alerts then download the Cameralert application. This can run in the background of the built in Google Navigation application. Other than this you could get one of the full-blown navigation apps though success with these and any 3rd party database is hit and miss between updates of the applications. My personal favourite nav app is Sygic which I use with Cameralert running behind in the background.

thanks for the replies-the one loaded onto the phone though i dont think its proper navigation its always telling me to buy a premium one for routes etc-is that right?

HTC bundle their own navigation app but it is as you say a preview only.

You can download Google Navigation from the Market free of charge but maps are downloaded over the air and so require a data connection.

Otherwise, my favourite is Navigon but CoPilot and Sygic are alos good alternatives.
