Hi all

I am doing a sponsored walk (100km) which has a number of check points
along the route

I would like to map each one and when I pass it can the active 10 'look' ahead to the next one and give the distance or ETA.

I tried mapping POI but that looks at the nearest rather than the next one.

Would appreciate any ideas or suggestions.

Many thanks

Mike

I think I would create a number of routes - a to b, b to c, c to d etc., and activate each as you reach the checkpoint.

I am sure that someone else will come up with something better.

I'm assuming that as it's 100km it's pretty much in a straight line or quite some distance between check points.

So, plot your POI's at the check points.
Set your data options as you wish perhaps distance to nearest POI and time to nearest POI would be two good ones.

Then when you reach a POI. Hide it's visibility. The quick way is to press the down the joystick on the POI in question and then flick it to the right so that the green box over the eye goes red.

This will then hide it on the map but still keep it in the folder.

As soon as you do this it will then calculate the distance to the nearest visible POI which should be your next one if it is a straight ish route. I do this all the time for geocaching and it works a treat.
