Hello,

I am buy a navman n60i without cd, and i need the cd with smartst 2006 to upgrade frimware on my gps!

Please help me, i am search all forums!

Hi,
There is no firmware upgrade for the N60i.
Navman do offer a software update for the device, and you can buy the 2008 maps.

What is wrong with the device?

One person write wrong winceimg.bin on my device and now when start the gps apper the white screen!

I am search on the web and winceimg.bin for n60i but not found....


I understand that this file is on the original CD in a folder " Frimware" and that should be renamed in winceimg.bin!

WARNING if this goes wrong it may kill your whole device.
In the case of a corrupt or missing kernel evidenced by unit hanging at boot or on switch on the key back lights flash and the screen remains black implement the following procedure.

Locate the appropriate firmware file.

C:\Program Files\Navman\SmartST Desktop 2006 SE\FirmwareN60i

Copy the 2 files N60i_Kernel.BIN and firmware.ini and copy them into the SmartST Desktop 2006 SE directory.

Right click UpdateTool.exe and create a short cut. Right click the shortcut and choose properties and in the ‘Target’ text box after UpdateTool.exe add the appropriate country code :- UK DAN SWE FRA DEU BEN ESP and then add N60I_Kernel.BIN both with a space. The finished ‘Target’ text box should look like this should look like this

Click apply then ok

Double click the modified shortcut and follow the instructions on screen.
From the blue screen on the Navman Navigator select Update WinCE by USB

Connect the usb lead to the PC and the Navigator and choose Next. The kernel image will now be transferred to the Navigator.

When the file has loaded, switch off and then on again using the battery switch run the SmartST desktop program and reinstall the Navman software then recover the registration information using the Tools Recover sequence

I agree with you, CaptainDrift, but I am lost CD with SmartSt ....

You can help me with two files?( N60i_Kernel.BIN and firmware.ini)
