i have downloaded the program to mu hp2210 with tt3.
the application opens and accepts a postcode but when i click show on map it comes up with instillation error, ukpostcode.dat not found in .exe folder.it quite clearly is there though. then it comes up with no matching postcode in database.
i am sure i have installed correctly and the relavent information appears to be where it should be.
anybody had a similar experience? |

Are the .dat and the.exe files in the same folder?
Ensure that you copied a shortcut rather than the .exe to the programmes folder, othewise the programme will be looking for the .dat file there. |

As Drummer has sais, the most likley cause is that whilst you have the .exe and .dat file in the same folder you have copied the .exe rather than created a shortcut to it.
Hence when you launch the application it cannot locate the .dat file. _________________ Darren Griffin |

thanks for your comments, but still no joy.
the dat and exe are in the same folder, and i have created a shortcut to the exe, when i try to launch from the shortcut it will not open. it sais cannot follow this shrtcut because it was not created on ppc device.

You need to create this shortcut using File Explorer on the PPC and not on the computer via active sync.
Go to programs, File Explorer, My Device, Storage Card, Great_Britain.
Tap and Hold ukpostcode.exe and select copy.
Go back to My Device, Windows, Start Menu. Tap and hold the stylus on a blank area of the screen in the popup window select Copy Shortcut. This will add a Shortcut to ukpostcode.exe
Exit File Explorer and go to Programs and the Shortcut you just created should be there. _________________ Graham.
