TT speed camera subscription used to be about £15 pa. Now on the TT website there is a speed camera service offered for £39.99 pa. Mobile cameras are separately part of Live services. Does anyone know if this is a new service and what you get for the vast increase in subscription? _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

TomTom really like to rip people off. Maps are a rip-off too. |

That price also seems to apply to Live Services for the Go 550. But if you purchase Live Services on another page on the same TomTom website the price is the usual £47.50.
Is the price of £79.99 an error, or are TomTom putting up the price of their Live Services? |

I've just received an email from TomTom:-
'And right now, a year of TomTom Speed Cameras costs just £9.99 instead of £39.99'
............... and even at £9.99 they're still an overpriced rip off!! |

even .99p is a rip off .. best check my end date which is soon and grab it while it is still cheap as it looks like the 1000 will never work ..will wait for 2000 to arrive now or what ever it will be called _________________ TomTom 5001 |

Yes, just got the same email. Special offer 75% discount until 4 April. Surely TT can't be thinking of charging £39.99 for what is thought of as dodgy data. I've tended to use it just for red-light cameras and ungated crossings [not that common], but at this price not viable. _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

I drove down to Stoke 2 weeks ago and the number of 40mph speed cameras on the motorways and dual carraigeways had to be seen to be believed. Also there was no evidence of speed cameras at most of the locations. |

When I got the 550 Live I tried using both PGPSW & TomTom at the same time, no prize for guessing which one bit the dust - is there an advantage to using TomTom red-light cameras? |

No, they just don't change much, so even TT information works. It's one of my bad motoring habits, so I try to use them to curb my impatience. _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

I already use the PGPSW database including the red light cameras and like Guivre46 it's one of my bad motoring habits I thought maybe I'd missed something but when I did have the TomTom db the only thing I missed were warnings for the dozens of cameras that weren't in it |

See tonight TT has changed the price to £19.99. So much for the 75% discount. _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]
