Wise choice.
In my experience its an almost pointless function - map toggles at same zoom level, something i'd failed to realise when i toggled all my maps. If it toggled to default zoom level 1:25/1:50K it would have been great... |

Yes I quite agree it would have been much better if the toggle default was at the "natural" scale of the map.Perhaps a feature that could be included in a future software upgrade ?
Having said that I do find it useful for flicking from one scale to another without zooming in and out,so not useless but could be better.

Not.
It seems a nice(ish) feature, but not worth the considerable cost.
IMHO.
Thanks for the input lads
Expecting my machine back today serviced, "world mapped" and consolidated.

Well....
As I mentioned in another thread, the guys at Satmap made a small error in consolidating my maps.
This involved me having to send the card back.
Now, and this is the point, they have very kindly "toggled" my maps, f.o.c, as a compensation for this error.
I have now changed my mind about toggling.
On the untoggled map, the scale change happens at the same zoom level every time. Now, I can choose when I change from 1;25k to 1;50k or vice versa. This is, in practise, a much more useful feature than I had suspected it might be.
It is certainly more worthy of consideration than I had previously thought.
Also, another example of excellent customer service.
