Is anyone aware if TomTom will be developing their mapping for the new windows phone 7 series.
The platform lacks any kind of turn by turn based navigation currently. _________________ o2 XDA Stellar

Unless they've totally rewritten the OS then windows stuff is usually backwards compatable so I would think most apps from 6.1 to 6.5 would work _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .
Oh the joys of being a courier.

They say it is rewritten from the ground up. Certainly looks and feels like it anyway. plus you can't side load apps onto it. _________________ o2 XDA Stellar

Who knows where TomTom are concerned? I have wm 6.5 and it's a fairly out dated TT7 you get, no IQ or anything the like, but it works.
I'm more miffed the wm 7 is totally different, there was absolutely no development for wm 6.5 apps because of this, so I've a top spec phone that nobody did anything for because they knew it would not work on wm 7.
I guess if the windows apps market takes off now like iphone I'm sure they will do something. _________________ Samsung S22 Android, Google Maps & Camera Alert |

Given TomTom have stated there are no plans for an Android product, I'd be very surprised to see any announcement on a product for Windows Phone 7 at this early stage. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Not sure if you have seen this info though
http://investors.tomtom.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=520493
This looks like a very interesting development as far as TomTom support for smartphones is concerned.
The Desire HD is an android device, but that fact it is coming pre-installed into the OS is the most interesting fact.
My opinion is TomTom have not released an Android version because of piracy concerns. A direct install into the OS I guess is the way they beat this. Now whether this is a fancy version of googlemaps or a full TomTom navigation product remains to be seen, but this is a definite shift in TomToms smartphone thinking? WM7 could go the same way? _________________ Samsung S22 Android, Google Maps & Camera Alert |

I'm sure we queried TomTom on this and it was TeleAtlas map data that was being used here with a TomTom back-end navigation engine and a HTC front end.
I'll see if I can find the info. _________________ Darren Griffin |
