I recently tried to search for my friend's address. I do know where she lives, but I wasn't sure of the fastest way to get there from a different side of town.
I tried to remember her address off the top of my head.

She lives on "Central Road". which I searched for, and only got results for business parks etc. I then searched more specifically for her district in the city, no joy. Used the street name and first half of postcode, nope.
It just would not find the street name!!! (and not to mention how LONG it takes to come up with useless results!)
I finally had a lightbulb moment and remembered her whole postcode (I don't know where I store this stuff in my brain) - Lo and behold, Central Road had been there all the time.

WHY can it not find stuff like this? seems really simple!
If we are able to search for street names, it really should give us results!

i have had similar issues.. the SEARCH function needs to be tweaked because its just not very good right now.

I think Telmap tried to make the search simple with just a single search field, but in reality it ends up to be more confusing and less accurate if you could just enter some search criteria first, so you don't get all of the unnecessary results.

I hope they fix their search engine soon, as I have had to switch to google maps a few times on my phone in order to find a place or address that Telmap couldn't,

Hello j8ke20 and Bubble2020,

Thanks for this feedback.
Telmap5 is still in beta and we continue to work to fine-tune our search algorithms. As you found out, using a full postcode is usually the best way to search. Unfortunately partial postcodes are not supported. I do appreciate that entering the full street name should work. Please send me the exact search term that did not produce the desired results so we can use it in our analyses. You are also welcome to email me those details to tugadmin at telmap dot com.

Best regards,
TUG admin
