Telling!

Launch Maps from the home screen (Google Maps). Locate your address using search and then tap the Pegman to switch to Street View mode.

If locating manually by dragging map just drop a pin to get the Pegman option IIRC.

Well, here's one for the database! Arrive Alive camera van captured by Google camera car. Wouldn't it be nicely ironic if the Google cam-car was speeding and the two vehicles took pictures of each other simultaneously?![/url]

If I didn't already have a lifetime membership, I think I'd be hoping to get one on the back of that self-verifying submission Wink Laughing

I wonder if there are any more camera vans on Street View? Maybe there should be a PGPSW competition to find some!

Where - I can't see it? It should be at approx 53.32214550284096,-3.8165688514709473 i.e. NOT Mobile:72524.

Don't worry, Dennis, I've submitted an 'official' report of the camera with the correct coordinates taken from the map.

Unusually, from the link that I posted if you turn around and go a couple of 'steps' eastwards back along the promenade, you end up next to what I guess is an ANPR van parked a few yards away from the speed camera van, with both of them active at the same time. I've never seen them working 'in tandem' before - is this a common thing?

ok, it's been added to the submission database as opposed to actually added to the real database. i ALWAYS work through submissions in chronological order so it can wait in line like all the rest!

In order not to lose my reputation as tired grumpy old sod, may I tentatively suggest that a curious many months old (or at least, undated) photograph is NOT the same as submitting a MkI Eyeball report of a camera actually seen operating by the person submitting the report - on the basis of the purging of the database, may I suggest this pMobile camera is already time expired - it was NOT seen operating this week?

Shame they didn't use up to date maps. My street has the incorrect name that has appeared on maps for the last 30 years! Last year the updated maps from Garmin showed the correct name so no excuses Google.

I'm with Dennis on this. We've always said only cameras the submitter actually sees in operation should be reported, and this camera wasn't seen in operation. If we allow submissions from Street View we're opening the door to all manner of "hearsay" reports, with the subsequent deterioration of the quality of the database.
