A colleague of mine has just purchased a Navman M400 and is having trouble plotting a trip from the UK to Austria. I am not 100% sure but it would seem the software is having a little difficulty crossing the Channel. Has anyone else experienced anything like this and is there a fix for it?

Many Thanks!

Why not just plot the UK trip to Channel. Then again from France port of entry to destination?

The Navman cannot know where you will be crossing and may assume Dover ferry but just as easy to plot as separate journeys.

Thanks for the advice. I had suggested this to him. We were trying to find out why it wouldn't plot the trip. My TomTom just assumes that you are traveling via Dover. Surely the software developers have had time to solve little issues like this by now.

You'd be forgiven for expecting so. Not familiar with Navman's current offerings, they've gone downhill in my estimation.

Hello Starbug,
Have you checked the route options?
Main menu - Preferences - Route options
by default the device is set to avoid ferry routes.

CaptainDrift,

Thanks for the advice. I have just been down to see him, we made the changes and hey presto it worked.

Once again Thanks!
