|
|
Hi,
I've connected my mobile phone to my new S70 via the bluetooth which is built into this unit and made a couple of calls while driving.
Sound from the person I'm calling is very clear but my speech to them is very distant, so they say. Is this a known problem with the S70 & should I get in touch with Navman to report this?
The distance of the unit from my head is about 22" without any obstructions and I need to shout at the unit to be heard by the person I'm calling. Other drivers think I'm souting at myself
Has anyone got any ideas on how to turn up the sensitivity of the built in mic or do I need to purchase a plug in mic and attach it to the unit?
Thanks |

grillphil,
The S70 is the same as my S50 but has the Europe maps pre-installed and there is software update that can down loaded from Navman that is supposed to cure this problem. I saw this file and downloaded and installed it on my S50 and it seems to work perfectly although I have been told that I sound to them slightly "crunchy" but they can understand what I'm saying.

Click on the above link and it is SP2 that you need to down load it is only for the S30, S50, S70 and S90i.
It is 145mb long so be prepared to wait a while but I think that should cure your problem. |

Thanks Specmaster, I'll give it a go this weekend and let you know the results.
Cheers. |

Ok I've downloaded SP2 for this device and there is no improvement in sound by the recipient. To be heard, I still need to shout at the top of my voice for them to hear me
Do any other people find the same problem? |

On reflection, the recipient can hear me a little better as they report but I may still investigate if a second mic may have to be attached to the unit. Yet more wires!
Thanks. |
