Does anyone know if these cables are common to all units please?
I have a Garmin 60csx handheld, and have just bought s Garmin nuvi 1490T. The cables look similar but not identical although the connectors at either end fit both units.
Thanks |

They should be the same. There is a standard for usb leads, most manufacturers follow it. BUT, some don't
I leave plugged in and use one of my Garmin leads for all my devices that I plug in to my PC. Different makes of gps unit, video camera, archos 380 media player etc., and all work okay. |

the garmin streetpilot i3's usb lead wasn't a standard usb lead... it would ONLY work with the supplied lead, whereas the nuvi series work with any usb lead.
maybe the i3 was a one-off or it could be that the older devices used non-standard usb devices and they 'fixed' it with newer devices?
best thing is to give it a try! the worst case scenario is that it won't transfer stuff

That's very strange. I have only ever owned Garmin i3's from their range. And its definitely one of those leads I use all the time. Garmin label on it and one of those magnetic bits as well.
After 10 min search found another i3 box. Tried the lead out of there and it works with everything I have just plugged in, including my TT ONEv4 and a RoadPilot MicroGo.
Also just plugged in the TT ONE lead and both the i3's I have at hand work okay with it. Tried PoiLoader and it works on both i3's |
