I have a “Sysonchip” CF card that I am using with a Jornada 545. The Leadtek software on the Jornada recognises the CF card and I am seeing all the correct signs for NMEA signals (satellites, development screen etc).

The Leadtek s/ware sees the CF card on port 2. When I use this port the Leadtek software works great and all looks good. However when I start PocketStreets [version 11.00(18.0200) so it is a recent version] it shows ports 1,3 and 4…. no port 2 ?

If I first close the Leadtek software before selecting PocketStreets, port 2 is now in the list of available ports but it the CF card doesn’t appear to”start” (ie LED doesn’t come on) so no signal is received by Pocket Streets ?.

I appear to get the same behaviour on a new iPaq2210 that I have if I move the card over to this machine

Any ideas how I use Pocket Streets with a CF card ?

You could try tweaking the registry

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Pocket Streets\10\GPS_COM_PORT

I assume this is a setting on the Jornada ?. I can't find the directory that you state - or even something close ?

We are talking about the Registry here, not about directories. You need a registry editor for that.

As a matter of interest, is this Pocket Streets that comes with Autoroute 2004, or an earlier version?

I know that PS/AR2003 could not use virtual COM ports, such as a bluetooth COM port. I presume the CF card presents a virtual COM port interface too. I took the issue up with MS support and got told, "that's the way it is". Neither could they tell me if the problem would be fixed in AR2004.

Decided that I would not be buying AR2004, despite having been a regular customer of past versions.

You need Pocket Streets version 11.00 or better. I guess that's what they add to the AR CDs, but you can also download it separate.

Any idea where I can download this please?

I looked on microsoft.handango.com and could only see PS2003 (which is the version that I have - v10.00/07.2500), or PS for Smart Phone, which is presumably no good for an iPAQ 3870 with WM2003.

On the MS site they have a PS2003 update, which I applied already, last year, but there does not appear to be anything later, that would suggest a version 11 or better update/download.

TIA
