|
|
I have had a few issue with my Live Services account and I am wondering what TT Cameras should be on my 940 device as I seem to have some recent variations compared to my backups. I also use the cameras from this site for the UK.
What Home is offering me is:
Safety Cameras for: AT, BE, CZ, DE, ES, FI, FR, IT, NL, NO, PL, PT, & SE
Premium Safety Cameras for UK, DE, FR & NL. These cameras for DE, FR & NL have a camera icon against them in Home and none of the others do and these appear to be a new download.
I am sure I only used to get Premium for the UK.
What is the difference between Premium and the others and will there be duplication having both sets for some countries? _________________ Drivelux |

I recently updated, so I assumed I wouldn't be offered anything new to download, and if I look in the "Show contents of my Go" section, under Safety Cameras I have:
Premium Safety cam UK (v2702)
Safety Cameras AT TomTom ( v2681)
Safety Cameras BE TomTom ( v2682)
Safety Cameras CZ TomTom ( v2694)
Safety Cameras DE TomTom ( v2683)
Safety Cameras ES TomTom ( v2684)
Safety Cameras FI TomTom ( v2685)
Safety Cameras FR TomTom ( v2686)
Safety Cameras IT TomTom ( v2688)
Safety Cameras NL TomTom ( v2689)
Safety Cameras NO TomTom ( v2690)
Safety Cameras PL TomTom ( v2693)
Safety Cameras PT TomTom ( v2691)
Safety Cameras SE TomTom ( v2692)
But I just tried another "Update my Go" and sure enough I'm being offered JUST:
Premium Safety cam DE (v2144)
Premium Safety cam FR (v2143)
Premium Safety cam NL (v2142)
I'm just about to install them and will see if they overwrite the "ordinary" ones for those countries.
Edit: to correct typo on one version number.

They were un-ticked by default, but once I'd ticked them, they installed fine.
But they HAVEN'T overwritten the ordinary ones, so I'm now in the same boat as you! |

It is good to know that it is not as a result of problems I had so we will have to see what happens next.
My versions are different to yours:
DE premium 2701
FR premium 2700
NL premium 2699 _________________ Drivelux |

I had the same thing happen a while back, although only with the NL Premium Cams. Strangely, Home only downloaded the .ov2.dct and .ov2.ver files and not any actual speed cam data. |

Sorry, forgot to change the version number of the last one while copy and pasting :
Premium Safety cam NL should have been (v2142) - I've now edited my first post
Strange your numbers should be so much "newer" MrT
Matt865... good point, I hadn't actually checked... but I *do* seem to have got the actual .ov2 files too. |

I would suspect that all the three files would be downloaded as the DCT and VER files come in the same downloaded CAB file as the OV2 file.
Home downloads the CAB file to : your_directory\Home\Downloads\Complete\safetycamera\Premium_Safety_Cameras_XX _________________ Drivelux |

I hadn't updated it today, but upon trying it just now it did indeed download all 3 required files. The ver numbers match with MrT's. |

I'm now totally confused and I hope someone can clarify things for me.
I never bothered with the Live Services subscription after the initial 3 months as it just didn't seem like value. I live in Switzerland so don't get speed cameras or fuel prices. Also, the price quoted was CHF14.95 but when I look through TomTom home I have to pay in Euro's which when I last checked was a rip off in terms of exchange rate conversion - pay more for less services!
I do however travel in both France and Germany quite lot so would like speed cameras for both those countries. From what I understood, and please correct me here if wrong, because my device home country is Switzerland I don't get speed cameras for anywhere. Granted they are not allowed in Switzerland but the rest of Europe would probably be worth the subscription. I also notice this feature is now called safety alerts and included accident blackspots, ungated crossings. Are these features availble in Switzerland? as far as I know reporting this information is not illegal here.
Thanks, Andy |

You might be better off subscribing to the cameras on this site for Europe? _________________ Drivelux |

Bizarre....
Connected my 940 to Home just now and there were new camera files waiting for me... but apart from the UK, NO premium camera files this time. |
