nRoute & MapSource error

I have installed Mapsource City Navigator Europe NT on my laptop and it works fine including transferring maps and routes to my Oregon 300, however I also wanted the option of using my laptop to navigate so installed nRoute on my laptop so the Oregon would show where I was on the map. Unfortunately when I run nRoute it brings up an error message saying "nRoute could not find any installed Mapsource map products" Any idea why that should be?

Is nRoute installed in the Garmin Folder where your maps are?

Not sure about this as I haven't used nRoute but you may have to unlock the mapping for use on nRoute - after all its another navigation solution. Don't forget GARMIN now only let you unlock a map for use on one device - it used to be two.

I've now heard from Garmin who tell me they no longer support nRoute even to the extent that they've removed it from their download section. They also confirmed it won't work with City Navigator NT 2009 because the file format for the maps has changed from this year.

I've seen a program that changes the .gmp maps to the old-style .img
