The rubber top of my 60csx is coming loose/detaching itself from the plastic body.
Is this a common fault?
Is it serious? Can I fix it myself?
The unit is just over a year old so out of warranty.
will garmin repair it anyway?

I'd ask Garmin first off. They have an excellent reputation for fixing stuff, even out of warranty.

Ive got a small crack on the screen cover on my 60 CSX and phoned Garmin about getting it replaced out of warranty.

They replied that they do not repair anything, they replace it with a refurbished unit (so in effect are repairing it) at a cost of £80.

As the crack is very small I have not bothered at present.

I suggest you simply glue the rubber back on unless your'e feeling flush.

they were most helpful,I sent it back to them
Anyway I'd have to take the rubber right off to do a good job, and I don't know what it's attached to.
IIRC it's supposed to be waterproof to one metre, so I want it to stay like that( so I know where I am when I go swimming)

I glued my eTrex Vista with evostick no problem. The rubber is just a cover and peels back easily.

Dales.
