I've had a Go 540 LIVE for a few weeks now, and I'm just wondering where the data for IQ Routes comes from? I'd presume end users like me, but I don't recall being asked to submit/upload info at any point? |

You should, at some point, have been asked by TT HOME if you would like to provide anonymous data about the trips you have made. If you answer yes, the device will store a log of all trips you make with your TomTom device switched on and this log is submitted to TomTom next time you connect to TT HOME. This data is then being used for creating the IQ Routes data.

Correct!
Tomtom does collect trip data, and sends it to them.
Assuming you have this preference set anyways.
Its in Home, under preferences - Enable Collection of usage stats. (v1.5)
I did used to do this for a while, and try to decode the files for my own use. Gave up when i found something else.
Regards

Please understand that the IQ routes info is stored in the map on your device and is never updated. It may be incorporated into the "next" map, depending on how long it takes TT to incorporate the info into a map, where the cutoff point is for new data to go into the next map. When IQ routes was first announced, we were told that the data was collected 12 months prior to release of the maps. If that is still the case, the route data being collected from you today may be in the map issued in November/December 2009, or perhaps February 2010. _________________ Dennis

Cool, thanks.
So is there anyway to view this self-tracking info? |

Have just noticed this option is greyed out for me, I can't check the box (i'm on Mac OS X 10.5.6, Home 2.5.2.58, and I'm logged into Home). |

Have you tried this with your device connected to Home? _________________ Dennis
