And? Those people have something to hide, surely? Or are you implying that the government are using those buzzwords to hide the truth of what they wish to achieve......? Do "Criminals" and "Terrorists" exist?

Which is what, exactly? That it would be possible to achieve an Orwellian Society just because computers can do the work of sifting through the number plates and faces? You'd still need an awesome amount of resources to create a real Big Brother in the UK.

I wouldn't dare imply such a thing, I might get apnr'd and locked up for being a terrorist.

The former yes, the latter our government would have us believe there is.

I think the fact that it takes so long to go through CCTV footage after an "event" goes some way towards dispelling the brainwashing theory

It takes no time at all for a warning to pop on a computer screen after the face recognition or APNR technology identifies a target, dispelling the going through hours of tape theory.

Not so. How many crimes are prevented by face recognition and/or ANPR? My face and my registration number are not "known" (to belong to a nasty), so when I pop out to abduct someone or drive my van full of bags of bang into a shopping precinct, face recognition and ANPR will be worth diddly squat to prevent me - then comes the hours of tape practice, not theory to catch up with me after the event and "they" won't get any pop ups from instant face recognition or ANPR.

Mmmm,

To my thinking this thread seems to have gone "off whack" from the original theme.

What I want to know is what is PGPSW doing about it and when are they going to start.
