I wish to flash my Holux GPS Slim 236 REV:C 2006.03.16 with firmware GSW3.1.1TO 3.1.00.07-C23P1.00 to 3.2.2 or 3.2.4 Perhaps might use 3.2.2 as others have noted bluetooth issues as well as SN being turned on. I have the correct Holux supplied usb-rs232 cable. I have managed using SirfDemo 3.83 to be able to change modes fro NMEA to sirf mode etc. I have managed to send serial messages in both NMEA (PSRF100,0,38400,8,1,0) and also send sirf serial messages like 148 (0x94) binary into it and get it to stop sending SIRF messages... I assume it's in "boot mode" to be able to flash it. My problem lies when I try to flash it or even read it for that matter. It doesn't seem to know the flash type/chip (SST39VF400A) I am totally uncertain of the settings to use in SIRFFlash 3.2 I know the memory space to read etc at 0x0 to 0x79999
These settings I don't understand what to set...
Communication Settings the checkbox for Full duplex... sites show and talk of older sirfflash version that doesn't have the option..
"Target boot mode state setting" Internal or External... does this mean how it was entered into boot mode? Whith external meaning sending a 94 command whilst in sirf mode? Internal the PCB jumper?
The other is Programming options... what should I use here? Erase relevant sections only, Erase whole chip or Update... What do I set it to?

If someone could please clarify and help this would be most excellent...

Justin

PS I downloaded the bins from this site...
http://web.mac.com/tomtastic/site/log/Entries/2007/6/18_Holux_GPSlim236_boot_mode.html
If I had a checksum/MD5 of it I could know for certain if it was intact. Man I hate it when people post bin files not inside some kinda compression with a checksum... stupid
Also I am currious what flow control setting I should use for the usb cable's COM port... I know to set it to 38400,8,n,1 just not what flow control to use...
