Very tempted to buy but think I will wait until October when I will be in France to try it out. If you find out more please post here. |

I will as well in reply to their email. In particular I would like to know if the guide is in French only. |

One of the questions I have asked Navigon is what the functionality changes (if any) are in the latest release (...8) I have just downloaded. A reply is of course awaited.
I have however just noticed a new symbol in the top right of the screen - a "W". There is nothing in the settings that appear to have changed. Has anyone any idea what this might be? VERY optimistically of course, W could stand for (POI) Warner _________________ David

What do you mean by 8? 7.0.8 software patch. Have not seen this W you have mentioned.
I have noticed on the IFA show information there is a 'Top Secret' item which we have to wait until Aug 29th to know what it is. I suspect it maybe 3D buildings but it could be anything. Part of me is hoping it's the ViaMichelin guide data to be a downloadable add on. _________________ Navigon 8450 LIVE |

jonandmarkuk - FRESH said the update to 7.0.8 was available when I was checking for the maps update. If you check the software update option, I hope you will see it.
Your other discovery sounds most interesting! I must have a look. _________________ David

Oh makes sense now. Sorry to disappoint but 7.0.8 was released about a month ago and I haven't noticed anything new with it really. I think it was just a bug fix rather than any new functions.
Will be keeping an eye on the IFA news page too.
Now is anyone going to IFA and can be so kind to pickup some of the free leather cases they are giving away. I have the voucher in the 'myNavigon' but no way of collecting it from Berlin _________________ Navigon 8450 LIVE |

So THAT'S where the compass direction goes! I've just done a demo and got SW then S, then the penny dropped.
Back to the drawing board - sorry about that. Thanks for the link. _________________ David

Has anybody had any problems purchasing the new speed camera download from the navigon shop. For some reason i am unable to purchase the download for the speed cameras when using any visa card as a payment method, even though there are no problems with any of my cards. |

Nope sorry I ordered it Friday evening and all worked fine and was able to download within minutes of payment.
btw... if you use the International link it seems to work out a bit cheaper. You may have issues if your credit card company is using Verified by Visa and you have not signed up to that.
I used a card that isn't using the Verified by Visa so maybe why mine worked? _________________ Navigon 8450 LIVE |

How is the new speed camera function. Is it an improvement on the existing function and do you get better warnings. |

Not been out with the unit but I don't believe anything is 'new' it's simply updated locations. _________________ Navigon 8450 LIVE |
