Hi, I have just purchased a Nissan X-Trail with built in Sat-Nav so I will be ditching my TT 700. So it looks like I will be moving back to a dedicated SCD system. It's 3 years since I owned the original Road Angel unit and I know that thinks have moved on and units got smaller. I am looking for suggestions on the best unit to buy. I don't want laser as it will become illegal soon - unless it can be detatched.

Many thanks
Steve

Hi,

I purchsed a TR30 Lite a few months ago and can thoroughly recomend it, the database seems quite up to date and it has some useful features like when your approaching a camera and you are traveling below the speed limit of that road it alerts you quitely unlike the Road Angel wich goes of like a fog horn regardless. The laser sensor is completley detachable and the whole unit lifts of its cradle very easily.

A friend of mine has a Road Angel and I prefer my TR30 lite much much more Very Happy

I think the hardware is of secondary importance. What really matters is the quality of the database. So I'd say 'Select your database then pick the hardware to run it'.

Now I know nothing of the quality of the TDS database except subscription is £49.99 per year. The PocketGPSW database seems very well regarded and is only £19.
