Hi Guys
Getting a problem using google maps with my tomtom 520
I do a seach for a business, select send, select GPS. TomTom Home starts then I get an error (see pic below)
Anyone got any thoughts as to why this is happening.
The only thing I can think of is that I am running windows vista 64 but tomtom don't list any operating systems on the requirements page.
Thanks for any help
Paul

Paul,
I had the same issue. Give me a bit of time and I'll point you at the thread I created and let you know what TT advised me to do to fix it.
It is working now, so bear with me. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

Thanks for the link
Unfortunatly there is no C:\Documents & Settings\UserName\Application Data\TomTom folder in vista 64.
There is a C:\Users\UserName\Documents\TomTom folder would that be the same.
Thanks

Hi Paul,
I'm not familier with Vista, but the TomTom folder on my XP Sp3 laptop contains a single folder 'HOME' and in that, there is a Profiles folder and a profile.ini file. In Profiles there's another folder with files & folders.
If I could figure out how to put a screenshot in this post, I woud, but if it's anything like this on your machine, take a full copy of the TomTom folder and then delete the original from your machine and see what hapens.
Good luck!

Nope nothing like it on vista.
Mind you just tried it with Firefox and it worked fine, very odd.
Mind you now it works I am not to sure how good the data is.
Just done a search for one of the long stay car parks at Gatwick Airport. Google showed the tag in the correct place on there map but when I sent it to TomTom it gave a location in Belgium. Very usefull.

That's odd.Evey time I've used it, I get to with a couple of metres of the spot!
When you see the selection screen, you are picking TomTom? I'm sure you are, but have a check that you haven't chosen Garmin. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |
