Came across THIS SITE which has free downloads for a number of goodies.
I've been using some for a week or so and so far all OK.
Take a look and see what you think. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

How does your AV program react? Mine found a naughty from Crawler after I installed it. Adware Generic2.HWW. I've no idea what that is, but if AVG 7.5 Pro finds something worth reporting and moving to Virus Vault, I feel threatened. _________________ Dennis

No viruses found wth Avast Home Edition.
I'll check again with SuperAntispyware and A Squared.
The Web Security Guard seems OK, tells you if the sites you want to vist are OK or not.
I've downloaded the Marine and Aquarium screensavers and also the 3D Earth. All pretty nifty.
Also using the Delete to delete telltale information from computer.
So far no problems. (Famous last words).
I did a search on Google for Adware Generic2.HWW but no info found.
I'll search my system for it to see if it's hiding anywhere.
I'm trying to decide whether to use their AV. May just give it a try. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

It's potentially just a generic flag to adware/spyware type software which Crawler probably is, as with much of these free games/screensavers/wallpapers/etc. type programs.
A quick look at the privacy policy suggests it collects some of your usage and search data and sends it back to Crawler. I'm not familiar with Crawler but a lot of these tend to pop up adverts as well. |

Haven't had any 'pop ups' so far.
I'll keep using Crawler for a while and see how things go. So far I'm pretty impressed. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

AVG 7.5 does seem to find a lot of false positives, if if set to thorough a lot of cookies, when i first loaded it it removed some integral program parts, i now tend to look very carefully now, by the way AVG is now on version 8. |
