I am off to France in a few weeks. Does anyone know if there are any maps available? Even just the route planning roadmaps that are built into the Satmap but for France would be good enough for cycling.
PS, don't try zooming in to the bit of France that seems to be there in the standard unit, as it crashes the A10, Doh! |

When I asked Satmap about the availability of International Mapping in mid February, the reply was :-
Quote: | International mapping is impossible for me to say at this stage, we have resourced Australian, U.S.A, Norwegian and Swiss mapping. We are continually trying to source various mapping, but we then have to sit down and cut and separate all of the mapping, which takes a lot of time, which unfortunately is one thing we do not have at the moment. Once the UK mapping has all been fully cut and distributed, we can then concentrate our time on the foreign market. Hopefully Europe will be sometime over the summer, we will keep all of our customers updated as soon as we have any more news.

Does anyone have any later news? |

What does Quote: | we have resourced Australian, U.S.A, Norwegian and Swiss mapping | mean?
Does it mean that they have Australian, USA, Norwegian and Swiss mapping or that is what they thought they would do first?
Anyone any idea? _________________ LostMike

They appear to have Dutch mapping (see http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=66399
I also asked about international mapping after seeing this and got a similar reply
Quote: | We very much plan on producing French mapping, Europe will be our first port of call when we start branching out. As a new company we have to concentrate on getting our UK market fully stocked with UK mapping etc before starting to produce the maps for further afield. We are hoping to be fully international by the end of 2008
