I have my TomTom Go 510 set to receive map corrections from Myself and TomTom verified only. I had assumed that any corrections I made myself would appear on my unit even if they didn't get shared until confirmed. I have tried several times to get a local roundabout removed from the UK and Ireland Map, which has been replaced by very expensive traffic lights, but to no avail. Does anyone know the purpose of the "Corrections I made myself" tick box, as it doesn't seem to work.
It's irritating to get a pre-warning and then to be told to take the second exit on a non existent roundabout as it occurs on virtually every journey, and as the new traffic lights also cause long queues that weren't there before. Progress ?

WELL covered on here, do a search.
In brief, and to be more helpful however...
ONLY the corrections on the first menu page of the device get amended "instantly" - that is road closures, road direction changes, road re-openings etc.
That is because this can be added to map there and then.
All other corrections are merely reported to TomTom with a view to them being considered for amendment on future maps that you can buy.
And even then, it is questionable whether they all make it in.
So Map Share is not ALL it is made out to be.
But for SURE, it's still a really handy tool, in terms of being able to close off a road you KNOW is not in use, or open up a one way street if it is no longer restricted etc.
For example, the High Level Bridge next to me, over the River Tyne, a key route, is closed for two years for repair.
Couple of clicks on TT, and it no longer suggests I use that route in future navigations.
When/if it does re-open, I can easily amend this, and voilą.
So, hope this helps shed light on how it works, but do a search on here for more, as it is wrong of me to start a new topic for something already well covered.
