Apologies to the mods if this is in the wrong place, but am still getting used to the categories.............

My question is..........i have submitted a number of times speed camera site updates on the hope of a lifetime membership, the last one that i submitted was on the A5 Hinckley, the black mobile icon appeared, then the month after it changed to a white one (confirmed). When i submitted the mobile camera it appeared on the database but my guess was slightly out so i knew it was my submission, when the white mobile icon appeared on the latest database it was put in the correct place, but this is difficult to pinpoint when all you have is fields both sides and no side roads.

Regards
John

I'm sure you know the rules regarding lifetime membership. In this case, just because a black mobile icon appeared on the map does not mean that it was necessarily from your submission. It's possible that a few people submitted it around the same time and your one was used to get a general idea that there might be a mobile "near here".

It would have gone white when it had been verified. Someone else would have positioned it correctly as many people will be logging the location as they drive past it.

I think the clue is on the tin, Andy - Lifetime membership.

laughingravy check the rules on the submission page. Mobiles are more difficult as a basis for lifetime membership - you have all the criteria of the "easy" fixed cameras (e.g. first and accurate and Verified), but also there must be additional confirmed sightings of the camera (van or whatever) before lifetime membership is considered.

If you need more information, reply here and I'll give you my famous list of links which will bore you out of your gourd!

Best advice you can get though is to carry on hunting cameras and reporting them - remember, every camera you report could save my bacon during my 60,000 miles a year, just as every camera I report could do the same for you. Just one bacon saving would pay for three years membership, wouldn't it?

I know, it's just the post said "My question is..." but then there wasn't a question...
I kinda guessed what the unstated question was really, but was just being flippant as usual Stop!

Do you want me to change your rank? It's an opt-in process as not everyone wants to advertise it.
